The Story So Far is a narrative rules-light character-building game in which players draw tarot cards and play out scenes in the early journeys of their characters. It aims to create compelling backstories and motivations for characters that can translate to more specific character creation rules in another game system of your choice.

Use simple rules and evocative scene prompts to build out your character and see how they react to novel situations, then create links between characters and their aspects to craft an elaborate web of stories. Create powerful but unresolved story hooks that you can build upon in later adventures. Finally, use the record of your character's origins and a handy guide to decide how this character comes to life in the next game.
